In 2021-22 (first season), assisted Memphis to a 21-11 (.656) overall and 13-5 (.722) AAC record, as well as an NCAA Tournament berth

In 2020-21, helped lead Georgia Southern to a 13-13 (.500) record

In 2016-17, helped lead SMU to a 30-5 (.857) overall record, AAC Regular Season Championship, AAC Tournament Championship, and NCAA Tournament berth

From 2013 to 2015, assisted Western Kentucky to consecutive 20+ win seasons

From 2008 to 2012, helped lead North Texas to three 20+ win seasons, one Sun Belt Tournament Championship, and one NCAA Tournament berth

In 2008, was the Interim Head Coach at Arkansas State for the final three regular season games and the Sun Belt Conference Tournament

Has successfully recruited several NBA Draft picks such as Tony Mitchell (37th pick by the Detroit Pistons in 2013) and Elfrid Payton (10th pick by the Orlando Magic in 2014), while mentoring numerous other NBA players such as Sterling Brown (Milwaukee Bucks), Semi Ojeleye (Boston Celtics), Shake Milton (Philadelphia 76ers), and Ben Moore (Indiana Pacers/Ft. Wayne Madants)

Shawn has been a college coach for 22 years. In that time he has built numerous relationships with AAU coaches, high school coaches, scouts, recruiting analysts, agents and NBA personnel across the country, which established him to be one of the best assistant coaches and recruiters in the country. Shawn is a leader of young men and passionate about the relationships he still has with all the players he’s coached and recruited at every program he has coached.
