The BDS Agency President, Brian D. Stanchak, announced today that nationally recognized author, speaker, and leadership consultant Jamy Bechler has joined the agency as an Agent, Women’s Basketball. With over 25 years of experience as a collegiate basketball coach, athletic administrator, and leadership consultant, Bechler brings a wealth of knowledge to The BDS Agency. Stanchak will continue to focus on leading all aspects of the agency’s preeminent collegiate women’s basketball coach division, with the addition of Bechler underscoring The BDS Agency’s deep commitment to the development and representation of a broader range of collegiate women’s basketball coaches.
“I am very excited to welcome Jamy to the BDS team,” Stanchak said. “I’ve have gotten to know Jamy over the last eight years and seen the tremendous impact that he has made on the coaches and teams he works with. His unique experience and passion for the profession will allow him to successfully advise, market, and represent collegiate women’s basketball coaches, and I look forward to him making a similar influence on his clients.”
In 2016, Bechler founded Bechler Leadership, a company dedicated to maximizing individual potential and building strong, cohesive teams. He has worked with a variety of collegiate teams, focusing on teamwork, leadership, communication, culture, and recruiting. More recently, Bechler Leadership expanded its services to include conducting collegiate coach and athletic director searches.
Bechler has also served as the Interim Director of Athletics at Midway University and as the Director of Athletics at the legendary Marion High School in Indiana. His collegiate coaching career spans 18 years, including 12 as a Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Martin Methodist College (all-time winningest coach in program history), Bryan College, Tennessee Temple University, and LeTourneau University. In 1996, Bechler began his coaching journey under Head Coach Gary Waters at Kent State University. Originally from Michigan, Bechler earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Hiram College in 1996 and a master’s degree in physical education from Kent State in 1998. He lives in Akron, Ohio, with his wife, Tabitha, and son, Jaylen.
“Brian has done so much to grow the game of women’s basketball, while representing many great coaches. His agency isn’t one that only handle contracts and negotiations. He truly cares about his clients and wants to see them grow, develop, and improve. Our philosophies align very well, and I’m honored to be a part of what he’s worked so hard to build. I look forward to helping women’s basketball coaches become better leaders to make the strongest impact on their student-athletes and teams.”
