George Washington Athletics Director Tanya Vogel announced today that women’s head basketball coach Caroline McCombs is serving this season having recently inked a contract extension.
McCombs, in her third season at the helm of the program, entered the 2023-24 season with her team picked sixth in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll, after advancing to the Atlantic 10 quarterfinals in both of her first two campaigns. In her first season at GW she steered a defense that set an all-time program record for fewest points allowed on average in a game (55.2 ppg), and last season her club earned the 7-seed in the A-10 and a first round bye in the conference tournament after going 18-13 overall and 9-7 in conference play.
Per department policy, terms of the extension will not be disclosed.
