Sheila Roux has been named the Interim Head Coach at Columbia University by Director of Athletics Peter Pilling. Roux promotion occurred following the resignation of Stephanie Glance, who stepped down to become the new Executive Director of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

Roux has spent the past two seasons at Columbia under Glance, including the 2014-15 season as the program’s Associate Head Coach. Roux has been instrumental in the program’s rebuilding process and has overseen the successful recruiting efforts. In 2014-15, a program-record seven players were named Ivy League Rookie of the Week and this year’s incoming class was ranked first in the Ivy League and 57th in the country.

Roux arrived at Columbia with Glance in 2013 following three seasons at Illinois State University. There she assisted Illinois State to a 67-35 (.656) overall record and three WNIT Tournaments, including the 2010-11 WNIT Tournament Final Four. As the program’s Recruiting Coordinator, she led efforts in signing the #1 recruiting class in the Missouri Valley Conference in two of her three seasons with the program.

As a Division I Assistant Coach, she has recruited and coached 12 All-Conference Team players, as well as two players named conference Player of the Year and two players named conference Newcomer of the Year. Roux was also a part of the 2002-03 NCAA Division II National Championship staff at South Dakota State University.

A standout player at the University of Minnesota, Crookston, Roux was named the school’s Female Athlete of the Year in 1999-00.
