BDS Search Founder and President Brian D. Stanchak served as an instructor at the Emerging Administrators Academy (Emerging AD) from July 12-14 at Clayton State University in Morrow, GA. The program, founded by Clayton State Director of Athletics Tim Duncan, serves to fill a gap in professional development for those aspiring to be an administrator in collegiate athletics. Participants walked away from the three day conference having a plan for career advancement, as well as tools to obtain these coveted jobs. A tremendous group of instructors also introduced aspiring administrators to jobs they might not have considered or known about in collegiate athletics.

Being a former collegiate Director of Athletics, Stanchak was able to offer key insights into obtaining an athletic director position and how to succeed in a multi-faceted job. He participated in a question and answer session with attendees and hosted a panel that discussed the “Search Process”. The “Search Process” panel consisted of Dr. Derrick Gragg (Director of Athletics, University of Tulsa), Judy Sweet (Former NCAA President), and Daniel Parker (Vice President and Managing Director of Sports, Parker Executive Search).
